The engines (as well as the
majority of the chassis and fittings) were the same between the Airline Coupe
and the standard 2-seater and 4-seater models of the same car. Only the
firewall and petrol tank varied from the
standard model.
A curious washer was found on both
sides of my PB Airline. On the front hanger pin for the rear springs,
between the castellated nut and the spring eye, the following washer was
used. Why the rectangular section on the washer? Was this used to add
additional support to the body? The rectangular section rests just under the
body mounting bracket.
